Nies Fine Art is founded by Elena Nies and offers a fine selection of sculpture as well as art consultancy services. She completed studies in History of Art at the University of Ghent and obtained a master's degree at The Courtauld Institute of Art in London, specialising in Northern European sculpture. As the third generation of a family dealing in Asian sculpture, Elena was exposed to fine art and leading art experts from a young age, resulting in a strong network and discerning eye for quality and beauty.
Elena has worked at various international art fairs, including TEFAF Maastricht, for 9 consecutive years. Her most recent position as associate specialist for the European sculpture department in Sotheby’s London provided invaluable experience in Western sculpture and works of art. Elena's skill in art research and expert knowledge in sculpture, as well as her relationships with private art collectors, dealers, and museums are valuable assets to her clients.

Nies Fine Art offers an exquisite selection of Asian, African and European sculpture and delivers expertise from each region, focussing on the historical importance, technical quality, and artistic finesse of each object.
New acquisitions will be uploaded to our website regularly. The selection is curated and managed by Elena Nies. She obtained a BA in the History of Art at the University of Ghent and a MA in Northern Renaissance Art at The Courtauld Institute of Art, with focus on European medieval sculpture. Previous to Nies Fine Art, she has volunteered at the Museum Mayer van den Bergh in Antwerp and worked with several UK based sculpture dealers and with Sotheby’s London. Having grown up in an art dealing family, who trade in Asian sculpture and collect European and African sculpture, Elena Nies has developed thorough knowledge of these fields and united them in Nies Fine Art.
